A new year - a new emerging artist

January is typically our 'give back' month when we showcase a talent we haven't seen or heard much about.

So we would like to introduce the amazingly talented oil painter Georgia Parkin Jones. Formerly a resident of North Cornwall Georgia loves to work on big canvases and within her collection Something About A River was the exceptional piece - Ebb & Flow - an Oil and charcoal painting on canvas which had been stretched over a pine measured 120 cm x 90 cm. We can't lie it was a challenge to hang but once in the window it was a real show stopper, especially on a dull January morning.

Georgia's current practice plays on a variety of themes. Moving between the inspirational surroundings of the ever-changing Cornish Coast  and her new home in Dartmoor. Her works are often encompassed with lots of emotion and she tends to paint a particular feeling/emotion adding elements of a place or subject. Many of her works are formed using predominantly oils, water mixable’s and charcoal.
Georgia studied at Plymouth University and received a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Photography a fact that links or next two exhibitors Ross and Tony, in January and February, who use photography in a very creative abstract manner not unlike Georgia's.
