Reflections
A new series of work inspired by the light on water in and around Falmouth.
Using palette knife and painting wet-in-wet, the beautiful shapes and movements of the images in the water come alive in the wonder of the rich and colourful paint. Colin says, "My interpretations of reflections of Falmouth harbour scenes explore the transitory colours and shapes that have their own beauty and mystery". His semi-abstraction of reeds reflected in Swanpool's still waters go further, also inviting hidden depths to be revealed to us.
Colin lives by the sea in Cornwall. He loved to draw and paint ever since he could hold a pencil and brush. Now he paints the beauty of the world around him, mostly in oils on canvas. Recently he's been inspired by reflections in the waters in and around Falmouth - noticing spectacular beauty and colour that has led to explorations of paint and semi-abstraction.
