Helen Trevaskis is an illustrator and writer with a love of storytelling, experimental image-making and tougher topics.

Her exhibition Haath features a series of one-off prints made early in 2019 after a visit to Mumbai for a friend’s wedding. The subject of each print is hands (haath, means hand Hindi) which create a link between Helen’s past relationship with the city - helping design hand hygiene behaviour change programs in slums, with her new profession as an artist.

Helen is a recent graduate of Falmouth University’s Illustration BA with an MA in creative writing from Sussex University and an MSc in Social Anthropology from Edinburgh University. She is based at Krowji.

Maggie is also a founding member of the Prime Women Artists - a network for practising women artists across Cornwall, whose aim it is to build an informal community for women artists, to enable creative collaboration and mutual support, to support practice development and to create opportunities to raise the profile of women in the arts in our County as well as creating opportunities to show their work together. The network now boasts over a hundred members from across Cornwall.
