Kirsten Basram
Exhibition: 13 March - 13 April
12:00-18:00 Wednesday - Saturday
Kirsten finds that the physical act of making art connects her with the landscape and sensations around her. She paints and draws intuitively, both from sketches made in the landscape and her responses to direct experience of landscape and what the paint or pencil are doing on the paper. She then refines and composes as the work reveals itself, enabling the viewer to lose themselves in the layers of colour and subtle textures she creates.
Kirsten is also a member of the Prime Women Artists - a network for practising women artists across Cornwall, whose aim it is to build an informal community for women artists, to enable creative collaboration and mutual support, to support practice development and to create opportunities to raise the profile of women in the arts in our County as well as creating opportunities to show their work together. The network now boasts over a hundred members from across Cornwall.
