Urban Sketchers leaders Les TrewinAlli Marshall and Dave Pentinshare an abridged version of their unique project that was exhibited at the Falmouth Poly in May this year.

Admirers of the Newlyn Masters, this small team of artists has ventured west to revisit the scenes previously painted by the likes of Stanhope Forbes, Harold Harvey, etc, to paint en plein air themselves and capture the same scenes with the use of modern techniques & materials.

Les Trewin: Les attended Falmouth School of Art in the early 1980's where he attained a degree specialising in Print Making. After graduating he continued to study and a few years later graduated as an Art Therapist holding a number of positions before finally becoming Director of Mental Health Services in a nearby Trust.

Alli Marshall: An ex-student of Falmouth School of Art, Alli’s work is popular on the Isles of Scilly, where her work is permanently represented in the Tamarisk Gallery on St Mary’s. Alli’s work is also available online, at Inspire Makers (Falmouth) or The Terrace Gallery (Penryn).

Dave Pentin: Dave is an artist and freelance web developer who loves to get his hands dirty with pencils, paint and inks in his spare time. A design graduate of Falmouth School of Art, Dave picked up his pens and paintbrushes once again after a 20-year gap while running art courses in the French Alps.
