Kate Hall's Private View 22 March
Private View 22 March - all welcome
Join us from 5-7pm to celebrate Kate's latest exhibition of work
Kate studied sculpture and printmaking at Leeds University graduating in 1993 and has been a practicing artist all her life and three years ago gave up work as a full time teacher to concentrate on her own work. She has since been lucky enough to become part of the PZ Studio collective and has exhibited with them on a number of occasions. Her work has also been selected for the St Ives Society of Artists open exhibitions and Penwith Gallery Associate Members exhibitions.
Kate is an abstract painter with a fascination for colour and texture. The natural land and seascapes of Penwith provide Kate with a rich and varied source of inspiration. It's often the tiniest detail such as rust coloured lichen on a gate, a piece of bright red driftwood on a beach, a foxglove pink swimming hat in a grey, grey sea often inform her work. Equally, conversations with strangers, sunlight on the cliffs, shadows hitting a bucket, anything and everything can make its way into a piece of work.
If Kate's not out and about on the moors or the cliffs with her 3 dogs, you'll find her working in her studio at The Exchange Gallery in Penzance.
