Sarah Sullivan Ceramics
Sarah is a maker and a ceramicist. She makes figurative ceramics. Sculpted, coiled and carved. She also makes wheel-thrown and coil-built hand-carved pots. Occasionally I'll make a therapeutic batch of pinch pots.
All of her work is made with stoneware - a high-fired and durable clay in her home studio in the historical town of Penryn in South Cornwall.
In 1998 Sarah graduated from Falmouth School of Art in Studio Ceramics and exhibited for a number of years before taking a 'Mum' break from making. During this time she worked in the Falmouth/Exeter University Library in Cornwall and returned to making with clay in early 2020.
Making is her passion and vocation. Working with the most ancient of materials to create sculptures and vessels for people to enjoy, engage with, live with or use in their everyday life. She is a member of the West Country Potters Association and Craft Potters Association.
These exquisitely carved jugs are a true labour of love, crafted with utmost care and attention to detail. Each vessel is skillfully wheel thrown and meticulously hand carved, resulting in a stunning creation that will delight you whenever you use them.
