2021 Residents exhibition

Subsidised past and present resident artists Dave Pentin, Derek Hayes, Lee Kellgren and Dawn Dance, exhibited their latest collections of work on 20th May - 6th June 2021

Dave Pentin is a design graduate of Falmouth School of Art, who loves to get his hands dirty experimenting with gum arabic & acrylic inks. However, in the past year, Dave has revisited the medium of oil and acrylic paints, translating many of his original paintings into contemporary or abstracted copies.

Dawn Dance grew up in the rugged South West peninsular of Cornwall. She trained at Falmouth School of Art followed by a Fashion and Textiles degree at Kingston upon Thames. She has taught a wide range of art and design-based courses in Further and Secondary education alongside running her own businesses as a decorative artist, antiques restorer and gilder.
Dawn returned to Cornwall in 2016 and gave up teaching to concentrate on painting the landscape she knows so well.

Derek Hayes is an award-winning animator, currently teaching at Falmouth University, and an artist who likes to wrestle with the lessons of the great masters of Art. Since the last Residents exhibition at the gallery, Derek has been exploring printmaking, some of which he will be displaying this year.

Lee Kellgren is a Cornwall-based printmaker specializing in limited-edition etchings. This year Lee has been working with oil paint to capture abstracted coastal scenes.
